Privacy Policy

How LessonSync collects, uses, and protects information when instructors and students use the product.

Effective date: April 8, 2026

Information we collect

We collect the information needed to run LessonSync, including account details such as name, email address, login credentials, and profile settings.

When instructors use the product, they may add student details, lesson schedules, package balances, payment records, notes, and portal access information.

When instructors subscribe to a paid plan, we and our payment processor collect billing-related information such as billing email, subscription tier and status, billing interval, and limited card metadata (for example card brand and last four digits). Full card numbers are collected and stored by our payment processor (Stripe) and are not stored on LessonSync servers.

We also collect technical data needed to keep the service working, such as authentication session data, device or browser information, and basic server logs.

How we use information

We use personal information to provide the product, authenticate users, maintain student portals, send transactional email, respond to support requests, and improve reliability.

We do not use student or instructor data for advertising. We use service providers only to host the application, authenticate users, and send product-related email.

Service providers

LessonSync currently relies on third-party infrastructure providers including Supabase for authentication and data services, Resend for product email delivery, and Stripe for subscription billing and card payment processing.

When an instructor subscribes to a paid plan, billing information (including card details, billing address, and transaction data) is collected and processed directly by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy policy and terms. LessonSync receives only the information needed to run the subscription, such as the customer and subscription identifiers, subscription status, plan tier, and billing email.

Separately, instructors may also configure their own payment method links for collecting payments from their students, such as Venmo, Zelle, bank transfer, or their own Stripe link. LessonSync helps display and communicate those links, but does not itself process card payments between instructors and their students.

How data is shared

We share data with service providers only as needed to operate LessonSync.

Student portal data is visible to the student who is invited to that portal and to the instructor or organization managing that student record.

We may disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the security of the service and its users.

Data retention

We keep account and product data for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

If you would like your account deleted, contact us and we will handle deletion requests in line with our operational and legal obligations.

Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect the data stored in LessonSync, including authenticated access controls and third-party infrastructure with built-in security features.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and using strong passwords.

Children and student data

Instructors are responsible for making sure they have the right to provide student information to LessonSync and to invite students to the portal.

If you believe information was provided without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
