Refund and Cancellation Policy
How cancellations and refunds work for paid LessonSync subscriptions.
Effective date: April 8, 2026
Overview
This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for paid LessonSync subscriptions. It applies to instructor subscriptions billed by LessonSync through our payment processor, Stripe. It does not apply to payments that instructors collect from their own students using their own payment method links.
By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to this policy together with the LessonSync Terms of Service.
How to cancel
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from the billing settings inside your LessonSync account. Click the Manage subscription button, which opens the Stripe customer portal, and choose to cancel your plan.
When you cancel, your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period. After that date, the account automatically moves to the free plan and you will not be charged again. You can continue to sign in, read your data, and export information on the free plan.
If you are unable to access your account to cancel, contact us at support@lessonsync.app and we will help you cancel.
Refunds on cancellation
Except where required by applicable law, payments for subscription periods that have already started are non-refundable. Cancelling a monthly subscription mid-month does not generate a prorated refund for the unused days, and cancelling an annual subscription mid-term does not generate a prorated refund for the unused months. In both cases, your paid features stay active through the end of the period you already paid for.
We understand that mistakes happen. If you were charged for a renewal that you clearly did not intend (for example, you meant to cancel and only missed it by a short window, or you were double-billed due to a technical issue), contact us at support@lessonsync.app within fourteen (14) days of the charge and we will review the situation in good faith. Refunds in these cases are at our discretion and, when granted, are typically issued to the original payment method.
Failed payments and involuntary cancellation
If a renewal payment fails, we and Stripe may retry the charge over a short period. If the payment still cannot be collected, the account may be downgraded to the free plan or paid features may be suspended until the balance is resolved.
You remain responsible for any unpaid balance on your account. We will not charge cancellation fees beyond the amount you already owe for the current billing period.
Chargebacks
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first at support@lessonsync.app. We will work with you to understand the issue and, where appropriate, issue a refund directly. Filing a chargeback before contacting us often freezes the account and makes it harder for us to help.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts with open or unresolved chargebacks until the underlying billing dispute is resolved.
Changes and contact
We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page. Changes apply to subscriptions renewed after the new effective date.
