The workflow

One day, two lesson formats, one reliable record.

Plan the complete teaching schedule first, then preserve the details that are different for private and group work.

1

Build the shared schedule

Create private lessons and groups once or as recurring series. The same calendar exposes conflicts and makes individual changes visible.

2

Run the right attendance flow

Record one student's outcome for a private lesson or each participant's outcome for a group session without flattening them into the same record.

3

Follow up from the history

Update packages, write a private recap or group summary, contact the right people, and keep the next session clear.

Connected by design

Shared where it helps. Separate where it matters.

LessonSync connects the calendar while preserving the rules and records unique to each lesson format.

One conflict-aware calendar

See private lessons and group sessions together in weekly and monthly views before you schedule or reschedule.

Recurring schedules

Set up regular private lessons and groups without re-entering the same teaching time every week.

Individual attendance outcomes

Keep an auditable status for a private student or every participant in a group session.

Private package history

Let eligible private attendance update prepaid package usage while keeping group enrollment separate.

Capacity and waitlists

Set group limits, review registrations, and manage demand without overfilling the session.

Controlled public sign-up

Share one mobile-friendly link for full enrollment or drop-ins while retaining approval control.

A clear fit

Know whether LessonSync matches the way you work.

The best software is the one that removes work you actually have. Here is the honest boundary.

A good fit when you…

  • Teach a mixture of recurring private lessons and group classes.
  • Need different attendance and billing records for the two formats.
  • Want students to request group places without opening your whole calendar.
  • Need a complete schedule that still works well from a phone.

Probably not the right fit when you…

  • Only need rooms or courts reserved without student records.
  • Want students to book any open private time without your involvement.
  • Need group enrollment and private packages treated as interchangeable credits.
  • Run anonymous events with no ongoing instructor-student relationship.
Questions

Straight answers before you start.

What this workflow handles, and what stays under your control.

Can private lessons and group sessions appear in the same calendar?

Yes. Both lesson types appear in the weekly and monthly teaching calendar so you can see the full day before adding or moving a session.

Can lessons repeat each week?

Yes. You can create recurring private lessons and recurring group sessions, then update an individual occurrence when the schedule changes.

How is attendance recorded for a group?

Open the group session and record each participant's outcome. The session retains its group-level details while each student keeps an individual attendance history.

Can new students request a space in a group?

Yes. When public sign-up is enabled, students can request full-group enrollment or an eligible drop-in. You review confirmed requests and decide whether to approve, waitlist, or decline them.

Do group sessions use private lesson packages?

Private lesson packages and group enrollment are kept as distinct workflows, so a group registration does not silently reduce a student's private package count.

Can I keep notes after either type of lesson?

Yes. Private lessons support student-specific notes and recaps. Group sessions support a group-level summary based on the session and attendance.
